Device Design Features
Structural Design
Modular Design - Capacitor units are serialized and standardized. The capacitor bank frame adopts a modular design, facilitating transportation and installation with a small footprint. With the aid of 3D software-aided design, static load simulation can be performed. The loads to be considered in capacitor bank design include:
1. Mechanical loads during installation, maintenance, and operation;
2. Electromagnetic forces generated by internal or external faults of the capacitor bank;
3. Wind loads;
4. Seismic forces;
5. Thermal expansion and contraction forces are caused by temperature and load changes.
Insulation Design
The insulation design structure of the capacitor bank frame can be mainly divided into: inter-layer insulation, absolute insulation, and inter-tower insulation.
Electric Field Simulation Calculation
In order to prevent corona discharge in capacitor banks during operation, it is necessary to perform electric field simulation calculations.
UHV-Related Tests and Research
To ensure that the capacitor banks applied in UHV projects fully meet the requirements for high seismic performance, physical verification has been conducted alongside simulation-aided design, which complies with the 9-degree (0.5g) seismic fortification criteria.
To ensure that the insulation design of the capacitor banks for UHV projects meets the requirements and maintains an appropriate margin to withstand ever-changing severe weather conditions, physical verification was entrusted to a third-party institution. The
Verification results show that the products manufactured by Yongjin Company have passed the U50 test.
